i don't know what to say really. i get in these holden moods where i can hear him sayin' this stuff. suspect it has to do with a childhood memory of being compared to holden.
now why this particular observation is beyond me, except i heard someone say this about someone else and thought it's right up there with "has a nice personality", which believe you me was how i was described to many a potential girlfriend during my rather illustrious and short-lived dating period.
in the end, it's mean, i know, but hey that's holden for ya. he is a lout.

as for the tribute, glad you enjoyed it. the story is actually true. when jd died i decided it was time to find out what mrs. shangle was trying to say when she told me, if i didn't smarten up, i'd turn out like holden. i also was curious why it made my mom so mad. now i know, especially being one of her loin products and all.

We have all been superficial & mean at one time or another. That's life.
