red-tailed hawks

every time i spot a red-tailed hawk gliding nearby or perched high in old man apgar's dead maple, i'm thankful they don't pay much attention to those jokes about new jersey lesser birds chirp along the migration trail.

Red-tailed hawks are such show offs.

We went to Mendocino a few weekends ago (33rd Wedding Anniversary) and right off the cliff were a pair of nesting Osprey. Their chick had apparently just fledged and we spent the whole weekend watching and listening to them. It was so cool.

Tonight, we had a Black Phoebe in our backyard "pee-teeer" repeated sound. I feed all the birdlings with hulled, medium sunflower seeds. Great "cat TV" too.
