the madcap travel blog, entry 5: when the going gets tough ...

if i were to sum up the national character of this country, i'd say it this way: "when the going gets tough, the tough eat tough ham and everyone drinks red wine."
there are tough times here.
another eu country on the brink.
not as bad as ireland or greece, but not much better.
you'd never guess it from the food and drink and general goings-on though.
i'm actually starting to believe apartments and houses don't normally come with kitchens or even toaster ovens for that matter.
it's the strangest thing really.

Felt that frozen pork chop all the way across the Atlantic pond did ya?

Maybe if you gave better HINTS we could guess the answer (in the form of a question).

Going way out on a limb here: What in the world is Bob doing in Porto, Portugal?

i'd probably be holed up in my room with a bottle of porto makin' up smarty pants clues, as insinuated by miss itzy, about where i was and i suppose they'd all be the same clues. so look for a photo clue soon, so i don't hear the belly achin' or feel the cold snap of a frozen pork chop against my cheek.

oh yeah, you're a pretty good limb goer outer cause you are way out there with that answer.

i guess it's up to lightly or supermom or one of the more quiet and reserved trans ponders.
