871. so i'm sitting in an internet cafe ...

so i'm sitting in an internet cafe, pretending to be an important writer because that's where they hang out, when it dawns on me.
what does an important writer look like anyway?
and that's when it struck me that plaid pants with a dandy pink polo shirt may not be the right look.
especially in manhattan.
more specifically, bleeker street in the west village.
i mean, i think people took note of me but unless they thought i was writing for golf digest, i don't believe i fooled nary a one.

so i came home and wrote this because i got really bad golf digest writers block amidst my peeps at the cafe.
and i couldn't be positive but i think i heard someone yelling "fore" from the dark recesses of the room, followed by the subtle snickers of important writers.

so you were pretending to be someone important when you could have just taken a small table and chair and a couple copies of your blook and sat there and signed a few. you would still be pretending but hell the illusion would have been great.

and we still waiting for a comment button on 870

if you were at an internet cafe why didn't you just write "so i'm stting in an internet cafe" there?

because i had golf digest writer's block which if you haven't had is just dibilitating. all i could muster was "it was a dark and stormy fairway" and that is such a lame play on snoopy's wonderful novel opening.

what 870? it's been abducted by aliens and i have no reason to believe they plan to return it any time soon.

lightly,
I think it was the Evil Bob who wrote 870 . . . our bob apparently knows nothing about it.

I hope you were wearing black flip-flops with that outfit.

nope!
pink go go boots to go with the shirt.
i was shooting for a sporty capote look.
and i think i obtained it, even if the others around me did not take notice with their pedestrian tastes and all.

we call this foot in mouth, slipping on the banana peel, a slight deviation from the path of happiness.

we like you bob so we going to forgive this booboo and like you we never saw a 870 either.
