618. digg, stumbleupon, technorati, twitter

let me be the first to ask:
  • who are they?
  • what are they?
  • where are they?
  • why are they?
i don't even know which question is more important, but i get the feeling i better deal with them or i'm virtual toast, drying up and crumbling in some remote outpost of the internet, making me pretty much somebody else's crouton.

the whole thing is almost orwellian.
chester orwell that is, who once said, show me a cranberry blog and i'll show you fluit aprenty.
chester drank a bit.
didn't quite understand a lick of what he was saying.
kinda like not understanding a lick about digg, stumbleupon and technorati, which is what made the connection to his quote.
cause that's how my mind operates.

i know, scary!

I know what you mean - I see these terms flung all over the forums I participate in, and I haven't got a clue as to what they mean.

I noticed some visits to my blog coming from stumbleupon, which is nice, so I finally got up the nerve to ask one of my groups in BC WTH they're talking about. We'll see if any meaningful answers come my way.

Thanks for posting this!
